Nike Pegasus Plus 2 Radical AirFlow Design
The upper on both shoes is made from Radical AirFlow knit. It has an open, loosely stitched look, closer to a chunky sweater than a typical running mesh. The pattern comes from engineered holes and ducts meant to move air across the foot and speed up sweat evaporation. This is the first time the material has been used on footwear. Nike’s Alphafly 4 and Apex silhouettes use Atomknit 2.0 and Flyknit X for breathability. Those builds focus more on saving weight and containing the foot than on airflow. Radical AirFlow aims to keep feet cool while still leaving room for strategic padding and protection. Nike has not disclosed specifications or colorways for either shoe.
What Is Nike Radical AirFlow?
Radical AirFlow is an engineered knit with integrated channels that gather air and push it across the skin to help sweat evaporate. Nike developed it for apparel and accessories before bringing it to footwear.
