The Kith x New Balance 2011 “Monuments” Collection Builds New York Landmarks Into Every Panel
Name: Kith x New Balance 2011Colorway: Maroon/Atomic Yellow, Amazon/Lilac, Princess Blue/SilverSKU: TBCMSRP: TBCRelease Date: November 9Where to Buy: KithKith and New Balance are returning to the 2011 for the Monuments Collection, a trio of colorways that each salute one of New York City’s most recognizable landmarks. The silhouette first surfaced earlier this year as part of Kith’s 15-year anniversary run, and its name points straight back to the year the retailer opened its doors. This time around, the city’s skyline does the storytelling while the materials do the heavy lifting.Under every colorway sits the same architecture. Kith built the 2011 upper from the ground up, assembling a layered, multi-piece pattern rather than adapting an existing New Balance last, then set it atop the ABZORB midsole unit originally developed for the New Balance 2002. That combination gives the shoe a familiar, cushioned ride underneath a construction that is entirely its own, leaving each Monuments colorway free to play with texture and finish. The “Maroon & Atomic Yellow” pair carries the deepest Kith lineage, revisiting the Ronnie Fieg for New Balance 530 that dropped at Kith in 2014. Perforated nubuck forms the base, layered with perforated nubuck and leather overlays and finished with quilted stitching across the vamp and collar. A full-bleed debossed 2011 graphic covers the heel, contrasting N-lock logos land on both sides, and silver-flecked laces add a subtle shimmer, with additional branding placed on the tongue and heel counter. The “Amazon & Lilac” iteration takes a bolder color-blocked route, built from perforated suede overlays on top of suede underlays. Reflective N-logos on the lateral and medial walls catch light after dark, while dual New Balance and Kith branding sits on the tongue and heel, and 2011 hits mark the outer ankle.Rounding out the set, the “Princess Blue & Silver” version swaps to a breathable mesh base dressed in vibrant suede overlays. Orange accents at the eyelets, N-logos and heel branding cut through the cool palette, joined by a co-branded tongue and 2011 detailing at the lateral heel. All three pairs arrive in New York to the World packaging, finished with a custom sockliner and an extra set of laces.Set your reminders and get ahead of what’s dropping next on Hypebeast Drops.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
