The Philadelphia 76ers are playing as well as anyone could have hoped to start the season, already looking like the team to beat in the East after checking off two early wins against the defending champs in New York. On foot for LeBron James on opening night at Madison Square Garden, a game in which the 76ers played spoiler to the Knicks’ ring night, was the Nike LeBron 24 “Purple Aura,” now emerging via Nike images ahead of a Holiday 2026 release.

These are also being called the “Opening Night” on the ‘net thus far, though the retail LeBron 24 “Purple Aura” appears different from the pair worn by James that evening, at least in this first look. The grade school version reads more monotone than monochrome, the titular color pasted across pretty much the entirety of the Kingknit upper, outsole, and various other elements. The pair LeBron wore featured a slightly bluer tint on the main upper.

We’re pretty used to seeing LeBron come out with PEs that are close to retail releases, but it’s also possible the GS version simply differs from the adult pair. In any case, we’ll know which direction the adult retail version takes in the near future.

The Nike LeBron 24 “Purple Aura” releases December 14th, 2026 in adult ($190) and grade school ($165) sizes. Peep images of the GS version below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse more upcoming basketball shoes.
