Nike introduced their Ava Rover model last Summer, and the lifestyle runner already has its third variation, the Edge, on the way. The new look goes even harder on the shoe’s grid patterns, with a Wolf Grey & Racer Blue combo leading the way for the model’s debut.

Nike is constantly experimenting with new shapes, technologies, and materials. The Swoosh built their entire brand on innovation in sportswear, a mission that has ed them to be the one of the largest footwear and apparel brands in the world. Their main focus has always been on the underside of the shoe, pioneering technologies like the waffle traction pattern and Air soles. One of their flagship cushioning types at the moment is ReactX, a cutting edge soft foam that provides incredible bounce and responsiveness while still holding up over long periods of time. Last year, ReactX made its lifestyle debut in the Ava Rover, the first casual model to sport a full-length sole of the soft foam material. In less than a year, Nike has spun off the Ava Rover into two additional models; first the Ava X, and now the Ava Edge. The latter is an upcoming release for Summer, which evolves the Ava line even further with more grid patterns. The original shoe featured a flexible rubberized grid across the upper for support, which has changed into a new waffle-like structure for the Edge version. The new look also adds a denser, more pixelated grid texture to the ReactX sole.

Nike’s next new model in the growing Ava line has not been announced for release yet, but is expected soon for Summer 2026. The new Ava Edge pushes the model’s signature grid texture to a new level, with an even more intricate sole unit and densely textured upper. The Edge is seen here in a Wolf Grey & Racer Blue color scheme, likely to be one of the first pairs to land on shelves. Pricing for the new model is currently unknown.
