If us and every other media outlet banging the drum for the “impending World Cup moment” wasn’t enough to lend credence to how monumental an occasion 2026 is, all you’d need to do is look to the brands’ actual moves for the magnitude to sink in. As always on our front page, Nike’s playbook has been a lead indicator in that regard, and as we learned of a super set of impending Nike Cryoshot collaborations, the full scope really came into view; Drake, Virgil Abloh Archives, Patta, and a host of A-list partners are set to take part.

For international readers, few names are more of import on that aforementioned list than G-Dragon, already proving his Midas Touch with the Swoosh via a run of Nike Air Force 1 efforts from over the past few years. Now, in a social media dump, we’re getting an advance look at what the BigBang frontman has in store. Though initially reading as a take on the Gato, already a major part of Beaverton’s futbol efforts, what the K-Pop mogul actually reveals is a take on the Nike CTR360, a turn-of-the-decade style fronted by the Fàbregases and Iniestas of the world as the then-pinnacle in on-pitch control.

Of course, true to the Cryoshot name, the G-Dragon take adds translucent “cages” underfoot to both protect and uphold the original cleated bottoms. Additionally, it appears that the Kanga-Lite materiality that brought the CTR360 to fame in its era is here replaced with a lifestyle-ready nubuck, a clean change that complements the “Natural/University Red/University Gold” palette at hand.

Beyond just these shoes, expect Nike x G-Dragon soccer apparel to drop this summer. The G-Dragon x Nike CTR360 Cryoshot is expected to retail at a $210 price point once it touches down.
