For Jordan Brand, going about the Air Jordan 41’s run with heritage colorways would be easy. Almost too easy. Instead, the initial assortment is built around gemstones and the meanings tied to their colors and properties, the “Ruby” for strength, “Quartz” for energy, and so on.
Here we have official images of the Air Jordan 41 “Amethyst,” representing Michael Jordan’s unrivaled intuition on the basketball court. We’re immediately reminded of plays like his mid-air switch layup in the 1991 Finals and his steal against Karl Malone and subsequent “Last Shot” in 1998, moments that encapsulate his elite spatial awareness and clutch gene. Amethyst is also notable for being MJ’s birthstone, for what it’s worth.
As for the sneakers, the “Amethyst” prompt materializes as a striking purple colorway with a shiny, almost iridescent layer up top. The midfoot shank comes in purple to match, while the rest of the shoe leans on black treatments, all in all not far off aesthetically from Nike’s “Eggplant” Foams and the like.
The Air Jordan 41 “Amethyst” doesn’t have a release date yet, so be sure to keep our Jordan releases page handy for updates. Check out official images below if you’re already considering scooping a pair.
