Given the spate of Old Skool “Souvenir” colorways upcoming for summer, trust that Vans is planning on being in the conversation for many, many moons. As we’ve noted countless times before, Greg Betty has often been in the credits for many of the brand’s recent smashes, but he’s also crafted some sleepers in the lulls between the latest “Pearlized” palette.

A potential such series is at hand with the Vans Slip-On “Cardigan,” trickling out to retailers with little fanfare, save for some brief social media call-outs from the designer claiming them as his handiwork. The creative touch is promised in the title, with multi-color yarn covering two dueling pink/red and white/blue/black editions. Stitched fabrics across the body and hardy anchoring provide a canvas for more charmed aspects, this time leaning in a real throwback Americana direction; gilded plays off of Route 66 and the “summer of love” are just a few of the included attachments.

The Vans Slip-On “Cardigan” hasn’t had an official release date attached at the time of this writing, but partnering retailers have already begun putting pairs up for sale.
