Vans may have quietly engineered one of the biggest surprise sneaker hits of 2025 with the release of the Vans Old Skool “Souvenir”. Loosely inspired by the vintage aesthetic associated with a certain Chanel handbags, the premium reinterpretation of the classic skate silhouette quickly became one of the year’s most sought-after footwear releases, proving that Vans still possesses the ability to create genuine hype when product and timing align correctly.

Following the breakout success of the original “Souvenir” pair in brown as well as the burgundy pair, several new colorways of the model are beginning to surface. This is, of course, a familiar strategy within the sneaker industry whenever a silhouette unexpectedly catches fire. Once a winning formula emerges, brands rarely hesitate to expand the offering.

That said, the 2026 outlook was bright and nearly half a year in, Vans has managed to “revive” the brand as one of the most relevant in the casual lifestyle scene.
