The Air Jordan 9 Boot “Anthracite” Features a Flashy Iridescent Finish

Winter sneaker season is around the corner, and we are starting to get early looks at what’s in store from big brands this year. Today the Air Jordan 9’s Boot version has surfaced in an iridescent “Anthracite” colorway, coming soon.

After its days on the NBA court, the Air Jordan 9 quickly found its footing as a solid option for winter boots. The former basketball model’s high-cut collar, boot-style lacing system, and sturdy midsole made it perfect for inclement weather, an odd turn for a sneaker originally designed for performance. In recent years Jordan Brand has introduced a formal Boot version of the silhouette, which reappears every winter season with new colors so you can stay fresh even in the worst weather. This year, the AJ9 Boot is getting a seriously flashy upgrade for the season, complete with a light-activated iridescent finish across the upper. Away from direct light, the model comes in a subtle “Anthracite” washed black colorway, covering the leather upper, suede mudguards, and midsole. Jordan branding and the eyelets come in white, evening out the eye-catching palette.

The next release of Jordan Brand’s winterized Air Jordan 9 Boot does not have an official date yet, but is expected during the holiday season window, between October and December. The “Anthracite” colorway hides a flashy iridescent finish across the upper, paired with washed black suede for a sneakily loud look. Pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $240.
