Between embroidered peaches on the tongue and regal branding on the heels, the colorway was an instant hit, only accelerated by a limited run of 1,996 pairs (obviously tied to the 1996 games).
A decade later, we’ve uncovered images of a sequel effort, where Beaverton pans down in the logo, swapping out bright teal from the 2016 for bright, rich wine coloring. Between confetti coatings in the trim, 3M materiality that shines under light, and podium gold trim, much of this shoe operates as a refined palette swap. Beyond the primary coloring, another switch comes on the interior, where the insoles split into red/white/blue, finished with “96” text within a floral bouquet.
