Carhartt WIP Takes on the New Balance 990v6 Next Month

Carhartt’s Work in Progress division has unveiled their latest collaboration with New Balance, this time taking on the Made in USA 990v6 in a ‘Sculpture Center’ colorway inspired by local gyms.

Last year, Carhartt WIP and New Balance teamed up for their debut collaboration, releasing a Made in USA pair of the 990v1 alongside a range of apparel. Inspired by vintage workout gear, the collection was united by a color theme of navy blue and dark grey. Now, the two are back with another project inspired by local gymnasiums and their old-school look and mentality. Taking on the Made in USA 990v6 for their canvas, the shoes are dressed in shades of brown, grey, and a hint of olive to round it out. The look begins in light grey mesh, adding lush brown leather and suede for the mid and outer layers. The inner lining comes in a dark olive tone, matching the tongue branding. Dark grey ‘N’ logos and laces in either white or olive complete the look.

The latest project from Carhartt’s WIP division and New Balance has not been announced for release quite yet, though they are expected to drop sometime in October 2023. Featuring a brown color scheme of the Made in SUA 990v6, pairs will likely be available from both partners and select retailers, with an estimated price tag around $200.
