Vans struck gold last Summer with their release of the Old Skool 36 Souvenir. The model was so popular, they added several more releases to their schedule, now including an “Oatmeal” white pair coming in July.
The special projects design team at Vans has been on a heater in recent years. The brand has undergone plenty of changes as of late, largely centered around the design team. The new era at Vans has been defined by their special projects, for which designers have found obscure sources of inspiration, predominantly from high fashion. The current wave of high profile releases began last Summer with the debut Old Skool 36 Souvenir, a look inspired by a 2015 Chanel messenger bag. The release turned out to be immensely popular, and still fetches a resale price several hundred dollars over the original $125 MSRP. Other similar releases like the “La Habana” Authentic and “Pearlized” collection have landed since last July, and now they are turning their attention back to the Souvenir edition. The next release of this special Old Skool casts the low-top in an “Oatmeal” shade of white, adding multicolor knit accents for the shoe’s Jazz Stripe and tongue lining. The Vans-themed pins are still included, and the look comes with a pre-worn, dirty finish for the soles and canvas upper.

The next installment in Vans’ Souvenir series for the Old Skool 36 has not been officially announced yet, and is not expected to hit shelves until sometime in July 2026. This release colors the pre-distressed style in a soft “Oatmeal” white tone with colorful knit accents, a perfect Summer style. Pairs will be available from Vans and select retailers for $125.
