NOCTA’s Nike Air Zoom Drive Surfaces in Black

Drake’s NOCTA imprint is lining up a range of new silhouettes from Nike’s past. This week, we got our first look at a new ‘Black’ colorway of the 1999 Air Zoom Drive, coming this holiday season.

Nike’s Alpha Project introduced some wild new styles to the brand’s arsenal back in the late ’90s. Some have gone on to become icons, like the Air Presto, while others, like the Air Zoom Drive, faded into obscurity. This year, Drake’s NOCTA imprint is reviving the latter, bringing the nearly-forgotten model back into the modern sneaker game with new special-edition colorways. This week, we got an early look at a black pair of the retro silhouette, which covers the upper in a range of materials with varying textures. Flashes of white appear on thee laces, midsole, and Swooshes, as well as a speckled panel that appears similar to ballistic nylon.

NOCTA X NIKE AIR ZOOM DRIVE ‘BLACK’ RELEASE INFORMATION

The NOCTA version of Nike’s retro Air Zoom Drive has not yet been officially unveiled by the Swoosh, though we hope to see pairs release sometime before the end of 2023. Seen here in a simple black & white color scheme, this look will come with a price tag of $165, releasing from both Nike and select retailers.
