Vans has quietly introduced another member of their ongoing series bringing vintage-inspired materials to classic sneakers. Over the weekend, the Slip-On LX 98 began to pop-up in a knit cardigan look, available now.

Vans’ recent reign began last Summer, with the release of the Souvenir Old Skool. The project took inspiration from Chanel messenger bags from 2015, reinterpreting the look into the form of one of their iconic silhouettes. The drop was so popular that shoes were fetching resale prices well into the hundreds, and spawned a number of new colors to pop up in the year since then. The design team at Vans has continued with other high fashion-inspired designs, and bolstered their catalog with other special releases like the Pearlized series, available in larger quantities. This week, another release has appeared that takes some inspiration from intricate textiles, dressing the Slip-On in knit cardigan materials. The shoes feature colorful knit materials for the forefoot and heels, bridging the gap between the two sections with a solid color. The first pair features a white base with dark navy blue solid sections, and shades of blue, green, red, yellow, and more throughout the woven textile. The second pair comes in predominantly burgundy threads, with shades of pink, red, and white mixed in. Both pairs feature a set of gold pins with shapes like a dog, a Route 66 sign, a flower, a peace sign, and more.

Vans’ latest entry in their ongoing series of vintage-inspired sneaker styles has already begun to hit retailers, though Vans has not announced their wide release yet. Sizes in both the blue and burgundy colorways are currently available through Extra Butter. The knit looks each come with a matching set of gold pins, and are priced at just $110 each.
