In anticipation of Wonka’s December 15th film premiere, Timothee Chalamet engaged in a creative collaboration at Nike’s Beaverton, Ore. base to craft a unique Nike Dunk Low, drawing inspiration from his latest on-screen character.

“I never imagined designing a Nike shoe, let alone a Dunk,” Chalamet shared exclusively with Complex.

To build excitement before the film hits screens, five fortunate individuals will have the chance to snag a pair of these exclusive Wonka Dunks through a special giveaway. Participants can showcase their Wonka-inspired creations via video submissions, with five winners receiving this rare footwear.

The design reflects Wonka’s cinematic wardrobe, featuring an upper mirroring the vibrant pattern found inside his jacket and a burgundy velvet tongue echoing the coat’s external appearance. During the design process, Chalamet brought his movie jacket to Nike’s Beaverton campus as a visual reference for the team. The heel tab showcases the iconic cloud candy from the new film, while the tongue boasts a brown leather tab adorned with Wonka’s recognizable “W.”

Chalamet drew inspiration from classic Dunks like the “What The Dunk” and the distinctive layered Swooshes on Sacai’s Nike collaboration. The intentional distressed detailing pays homage to the youthful Wonka’s attire portrayed by Chalamet in the movie.
