Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3 continues to present footwear that questions the norm -- just take a look at its version of running sneakers if you need a reminder. Now, it returns to a Three Stripe staple, the Y-3 UltraBOOST 22, just in time for summer.First appearing in January 2022, the Y-3 UltraBOOST 22 has arrived in various renditions that have often reminded us of the seminal Y-3 Qasa silhouette. That's because the pair's signature PRIMEKNIT upper is not immediately visible, instead using a stretch nylon fabric to cover the majority of the shoe's upper like avant-garde bandages.From there, Y-3 applies everything from side-wall bumpers at the front to three-dimensional polyurethane on the Y-3-branded tongue, as well as another pull tag on the heel that sits alongside a creamy heel clip.
