The Air Jordan 1 "Chicago Reimagined" Is Restocking on SNKRS

The Air Jordan 1 "Chicago Reimagined" was one of Jordan Brand's hottest releases of 2022, and now Jumpman lovers will have a second shot at it as it's set to restock on SNKRS. Nike all but confirmed the restock earlier today with an in-app poll, humorously asking users if they were the selfish type of sneakerhead who'd keep info of the restock to themselves (an option represented with a zipped-mouth emoji) or the generous sneakerhead who would let the crew in on their knowledge by texting the group chat. Previous to the "Chicago Reimagined" release, the last time the Air Jordan 1 "Chicago" had released was in 2015 — and that release was largely unobtainable only a few years after its drop, with four-figure aftermarket prices that only pushed even higher after The Last Dance became required viewing for Air Jordan fans during global lockdowns in 2020. Rumors of the "Chicago Reimagined" began to swirl shortly after the documentary was released and picked up steam in early 2022 before the shoe was leaked that June and released in November. Unlike the 2015 iteration, the "Lost and Found" wasn't a 1:1 copy of the style Michael Jordan wore in 1985. Instead, it paid homage to how rare sneakers like original '85 Air Jordan 1s would be forgotten on dusty shelves in the stockroom of mom-and-pop shops, a nifty bit of storytelling that saw the shoe come with a fabricated old-school receipt, custom box paper, "aged" midsoles and cracked leather detailing around the collar, details that also garnered a "Lost & Found" nickname. An official date for the Air Jordan 1 "Chicago Reimagined" restock has yet to be announced but it's likely to occur in the coming weeks, so keep it locked to the SNKRS app for more info as it's available. For more news on upcoming sneaker releases, check out the latest installment of Hypebeast's weekly Best Footwear Drops series.
