Cadillac has partnered with renowned Los Angeles designer Dominic Ciambrone, also known as “The Shoe Surgeon“, and his team to craft an exclusive collection of custom sneakers. Each unique style in this collection draws inspiration from a specific vehicle in Cadillac’s cutting-edge EV portfolio, including the Cadillac LYRIQ, CELESTIQ, OPTIQ, and ESCALADE IQ.
To ensure the sneakers authentically represent the essence of each vehicle, the SURGEON team collaborated closely with Cadillac designers and artisans. The creative process took place in person at General Motors’ Design Center in Warren, Michigan, where the team meticulously studied the distinctive design elements of the vehicles. The sporty and youthful OPTIQ, along with the bold yet agile ESCALADE IQ, provided rich sources of inspiration.
Each sneaker in the collection incorporates high-end design elements reflective of Cadillac’s luxurious craftsmanship. This includes the use of premium interior leathers, intricate upholstery patterning, textiles, and advanced stitching techniques. Additionally, the sneakers feature color palettes inspired by the interior and exterior paint finishes of the respective vehicles, blending automotive design with fashion in a seamless fusion.
In conjunction with Cadillac’s role as the Official Vehicle of the US Open tennis tournament, the brand also teamed up with SURGEON to create custom sneakers celebrating the personal journey of professional tennis player and Cadillac brand ambassador, Francis Tiafoe. These special sneakers, inspired by Tiafoe’s story, will be auctioned on CharityBuzz.com, with proceeds supporting the USTA Foundation’s Frances Tiafoe Fund. This fund is dedicated to providing free or low-cost tennis programming and academic services to over 130,000 student-athletes annually.
The collaboration includes an ultra-exclusive pair of custom Air Jordan 1 Lows, designed specifically for Francis Tiafoe, also known as Big Foe. This pair, made exclusively for Tiafoe, will not be available for public purchase, making it a true one-of-a-kind collector’s item.
Release Information
For those looking to own a piece of this innovative collaboration, the Cadillac x The Shoe Surgeon collection – including the ESCALADE IQ, OPTIQ, LYRIQ, and CELESTIQ sneakers – will be available for purchase starting September 8, 2024, on CadillacSignature.com.
With only five pairs of each EV-inspired sneaker being produced (a total of 20 pairs), this collection is set to be one of the most exclusive releases of the year. Pricing details will be announced closer to the release date, with all proceeds from the sales going to support the USTA Foundation’s Frances Tiafoe Fund.
Fans can view the collection in person at the 2024 US Open Fan Experience in New York, where both the Tiafoe collaboration sneakers and the Cadillac collection will be displayed alongside the vehicles that inspired them.
