NikeSKIMS is finally here, with the first activewear collection launched last month. Now, the joint brand is readying the first footwear release to kick off the new year. The Air Rift Mesh is the silhouette of choice, dropping this month in three neutral colorways.

When news of a Nike & SKIMS project first leaked last Fall, it was expected to be a standard collaboration between two brands. Instead, they announced NikeSKIMS, an entirely new joint brand that meshes the Swoosh’s 50+ year history of sports innovation with SKIMS’ body-focused design ethos. The new joint venture released its debut collection in December, offering up a huge range of activewear and accessories for women. Now, NikeSKIMS is finally ready for their sneaker debut, coming this month.

The debut sneaker release for NikeSKIMS will be the Air Rift Mesh, a new take on the classic Nike ultralight runner. Originally released in 1996 and inspired by barefoot runners, the Rift gets it’s name from its tabi toe design, splitting the big toe from the rest of the forefoot for agility and comfort. The Air Rift has been on a retro run recently, leaning into the slim sneaker and ballet shoe trends in high fashion. NikeSKIMS initial batch of the shoe feature a redesigned upper, with much thinner, lightweight uppers and a streamlined midsole. The upper is constructed from a single piece of dense mesh, with taped overlays for structure and support. Three colorways will be available later this month, triple black, “Archaeo” brown, and “Velvet” brown.

Nike and SKIMS new partnership is finally releasing its first footwear offering this month, currently scheduled to drop on January 26th, 2026. The first style for the collaboration is the Air Rift Mesh, a modified version of Nike’s tabi-toed women’s slip on sneaker. Arriving in three colorways for its debut, black, “Archaeo” brown, and “Velvet” brown, pairs will likely be available from both partners as well as select retailers for $150.
