You’re not a real member of the Nike mainline until you drop a “Triple White.” The easiest path for any of Beaverton’s inventions to capturing everyday wear has been by snowing in their exteriors. Truest when when it comes to the Nike Air Force 1 Low, its all-white still a staple of streetwear four decades in, that simplistic prompt continues to influence catalog peers to this day.
As a member of the Shox family, the Ride 2 can already take some inspiration from the Uptown. Where Bruce Kilgore’s design went from hoops origins to lifestyle dominance, the once-runner aims to accomplish the same thing, following in the footsteps of later converts like the Vomero 5. To our eye, those moved by the piston-powered platform still prefer to stick to the Shox TL or Shox R4, but if you tend towards sportier aesthetics, you can hardly go wrong with the model at hand. Though making good on its “Triple White” promise through most of the real estate here, fiery branding and off-white traction sneak a few off-tone hits.
The Nike Shox Ride 2 “Triple White” should be coming to Nike.com and retail shelves shortly, retailing for $180.
