Comme des Garçons, as they’re wont to do, had a surprising inclusion in their Spring/Summer 2026 preview: the once-obscure Air Max Dolce in signature monochromatic fashion. It was a playbook that only inner circle collaborators like themselves, Stussy, and Supreme have been able to tap into, receiving unfettered access to the Beaverton backlog, but evidently, this was only a taste of what was to come.
Official images of the Nike Air Max Dolce “Light Magenta” now demonstrate that CDG’s efforts weren’t a one-off; the hybrid formulation is getting a full-blown retro. As we noted in our coverage of the fashion label’s set, the timing is about right for the 2002 invention, which bridged the gap between cutting-edge Air Max tech and the world of Italian formalwear. Competing silhouettes like the New Balance 204L or HOKA Speed Loafer once made this mashup category one of the more talked-about in the sneaker space.
Even within Nike, the emergence of the Nike First Sight family signals that these sorts of half-sportstyle, half-runway developments aren’t slowing down. For this inline edition, the eccentric blend of textures remains in place, from the gridded tongue cage to the notched side panels. A comprehensive “Light Magenta” treatment pairs with black trim and a clear Air bubble to round out this shoe’s palette.
