Few would argue that while it was the New Balance 550 and throwback basketball aesthetics that helped the brand reach a pinnacle this decade, it’s been the New Balance 99x series that’s kept consumers around; either newfound ones in this renewed golden age or NB devotees that’ve sworn by them for far longer. With the firehose pace at which the American giant has issued silhouettes, those well-established titans are all of a sudden a minority in the lifestyle catalog. The 1906R, 9060, 2000, 1890, Gator Run, Allerdale, 1000, and, yes, the 2010; that’s just a selection of the new faces that’ve joined since the pandemic.

It’s the latter that presents a bridge between either category, novel in design at the end of the day but still wearing that quality-first family on a tacit level. With the ABZORB 2010 entering year two, creative blocking layouts are becoming increasingly common, something utilized with the colorway at hand to freshen up familiar tones. To wit, though cream, grey, and navy are well-trod territory for NB, the circular application of dark blue and a pop of teal in the heel make for an eye-catching profile. We’re partially reminded of the still-pending “Rose” or “Covert Green” colorways we uncovered towards the end of 2025, where this same “inner/outer” split played out, then marking a rather stark divergence from the more orthodox schemes we’d seen on the retro runner.

The New Balance 2010 “Vintage Indigo” doesn’t have a concrete release date, but has already started popping up at scattered overseas retailers. Expect this pair to materialize as a part of the brand’s Spring/Summer slate, arriving with the stock standard $160 retail price.
