Next month, the Boston-based sportswear entity will be bringing back Emmitt Smith's "ES22" training sneaker. Initially debuted in '96, the ES22 was introduced as part of Reebok's “Preseason” footwear line of turf footwear and cleats designed to attack off-season training.Fast forward 26 years later, the "ES22" is getting brought back to the frontlines in its original "Blue/Black/White" colorway that references Smith's illustrious career with the Dallas Cowboys. Key elements to call out include the Viz-Hex features, ghillie lacing system and distinct "broken-glass" Reebok branding elements atop the heels and tongues. "22" hits also arrive along the heels to honor Smith's jersey number.“In conversations with Emmitt, we talked about what it’s like to be a running back in the pros,” said Reebok designer E. Scott Morris. “He said “it’s like getting into 25 car wrecks a day.” First things I thought of were collisions, airbags, and how car frames are designed to protect your body and head.
