The Air Max 95 has been everywhere for the past fifteen months, since Nike introduced the Big Bubble version for Air max Day ’25. This week, a ‘reverse’ style of the classic “Solar Red” pair has surfaced, coming soon.

Nike’s anniversary celebrations have become more and more frequent, with many of the brand’s early icons reaching 25+ years on the market in the last decade, and some over forty years old now. Last year was the Air Max 95’s big birthday blowout, with the Swoosh celebrating thirty years of the classic running shoe. They introduced a new Big Bubble version, based on the model’s original 1995 specs, and to celebrate, released an extremely limited number of a colorway taken from Tinker Hatfield’s original sketch of the silhouette. Released in partnership with NYC’s MoMA, the “Reverse Neon” pair reconstructed the shoe in an all-suede build, and flipped the OG neon gradient on its head.

Now, the “Solar Red” colorway of the 95 is taking up the ‘reverse’ mantle in 2026. The colorway features the same core color palette of black, grey, and white hues as the neon, but replaces the signature green with a neon red tone as an accent. Pairs of the Solar Red look were part of the AM95’s original run in the ’90s, and got another retro release last year for the 30th anniversary. New official images from Nike show a ‘reverse’ pair in the works, flipping the direction of the color gradient, just like the neon. The look starts in black at the top, lightens to grey in the middle, and finished in white for the lower half of the silhouette.

Following in the footsteps of the “Reverse Neon” look from 2025, the “Solar Red” pair flips its gradient to black on top, grey mid sections, and a white sole.
