The 2006 Fantastic Four pack from Nike has been back in sneaker conversations over the past year, and now Nike is preparing a proper retro for select pairs in 2027, including the “Mr. Fantastic” Air Max 90.

Nike’s early 2000s era in sneakers was arguably the best they’ve ever been. Many of the rare and highly-coveted styles from that period are considered holy grails today, though the Swoosh has been hard at work bringing back some of the most iconic styles for a new generation, often with remastered presentations. Next up on their list of fan-favorites to retro is the Fantastic Four pack, a 2006 release that arrived in between Marvel’s First Family’s silver screen debut and the Rise of the Silver Surfer follow-up in 2007. The pack was unlicensed, releasing without any input from Marvel, a process that was a hallmark of the Swoosh’s run-and-gun style of the era, in-line with the SB team’s Freddy Krueger, Heineken, and Simpsons projects.

This week, news of the Fantastic Four retro emerged thanks to a collective of sneaker leakers including SneakerMarketRO, brandon1an, zSneakerHeadz, and Sneaker Files. Their information alleges that Nike is planning for two more colorways from the 2006 pack will land in Summer of 2027. The “Human Torch” Air Max 95 was leaked in this info drop, joining the “Dr. Doom” Foamposite leak from early this year, though that pair is expected to arrive ahead of the Torch and Mr. Fantastic pairs. Reed Richard’s Air Max 90 comes in a “Harbor Blue” color scheme, adding darker navy accents and white branding elements to break up the all-blue palette.

Nike’s rerelease of their 2006 “Mr. Fantastic” Air Max 90 does not have a set release date yet, but is expected to land sometime in Summer 2027. The “Harbor Blue” colorway for the vintage runner joins the “Human Torch” AM95 and “Dr. Doom” Foamposites as the third official retro from the original release, and will be available from both Nike and select retailers. Pricing is expected to be set at $155.
