Nike is dipping into their vault for more classic Air Max releases in 2027. Over the weekend, news broke of the 2006 “Human Torch” Air Max 95 getting a retro, coming next Summer.

Nike’s early 2000s Air Max releases are the stuff of legends, holy grail sneakers that have remained unobtainable for over a decade past their original release. In recent years, the Swoosh has made more of an effort to revive these cultural artifacts, rereleasing some icons so those who missed out back then and the new, younger generations can own pieces of sneaker history. One of the most unique collections from that era is the 2006 Fantastic Four pack, an artifact from a time when Nike would avoid licensing any intellectual property and making completely unsubtle nods to beloved characters. The pack features the four members of Marvel’s First Family in sneaker form, along with a special Dr. Doom Foamposite, which is also set for a retro soon. Over the weekend news of the “Human Torch” Air Max 95 broke, thanks to a team of sneaker leakers from zSneakerHeadz, brandon1an, SneakerMarketRO, and Sneaker Files. The 2006 classic translated Johnny Storm’s full-flame form onto the 95’s wavy layers, with a gradient that goes from dark red to bright orange. The groundwork for a retro release of F4 sneakers goes back to last year’s “Invisible Woman 2.0” release, which first emerged ahead of the MCU’s on-screen debut of the First Family

NIKE AIR MAX 95 “HUMAN TORCH” RELEASE INFORMATION

The news of Nike retroing more members of their Fantastic Four pack from 2006 did not come with any concrete release dates, but pairs are expected to land during Summer 2027. Included in this batch of rereleases will be the Air Max 95 “Human Torch”, which borrows its color scheme from Johnny Storm’s full body flames. Pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with an expected price tag of $200.
