The Air Liquid Max is Nike’s latest entry in decades of innovation featuring compressed air bags in sneaker soles. The model returns with a new “Radiant Blue” color scheme this week.

Air Max technology has evolved steadily over the past four decades, since its initial introduction in 1986. Nike has constantly experimented with new orientations, shapes, and production methods to fine tune their most famous cushioning, which brings us to their 2026 Liquid line. The new midsole shape bears some resemblance to the Vapormax line from the late 2010s, but has more distinct, individual pods running from toe to heel. Each one is specifically placed where they will provide the most relief for your feet, with the negative spaces in between acting as their own form of cushioning. The Air Liquid Max is the only model to use this tech so far, and has released in a small assortment of colors since its launch in March. This week adds another to the lineup, a “Radiant Blue” edition with purple accents over a black base. The textured upper is the same as the “Poison Dart Frog” and “Bred” releases, completing a nice trio of styles in basic colors.

Nike’s next release of their new Air Liquid Max silhouette arrives this week, on July 23rd, 2026. The new color scheme brings a mix of “Radiant Blue” and purple tones to the dart frog-inspired textured upper. The rest of the shoe is cast in black, down to the glossy Air bags underfoot. Pairs will be available through both the Nike SNKRS app and select retailers for $220.
