The biggest sneaker brand in the world brought the biggest bag with it to Paris Fashion Week. Nike’s Spring/Summer 2027 showcase has been, in a word, ultra-experimental, headlined by square-toed Forces and Air Max 90s, low-top Air Bakins, and much, much more.

You may have caught our coverage of the Air Max 95 “Macaw Pack,” a deeply inspired, very dope duo that might just rank among the best non-collaborative releases of next year. And yet, we’ve got an arguably even more headline-worthy piece of 110 news to report.

Nike is releasing an Air Max 95 “Black Tongue Pack” featuring a number of gradient styles for Spring/Summer 2027. We’re immediately reminded of the mita sneakers x Nike Air Max 95 “Ueno Prototype” from 2013, an ultra-limited shoe based on an early unreleased prototype pictured alongside Air Max 95 designer Sergio Lozano back in the ’90s. The key difference between this formula and the one used by the “Neon” and adjacent styles is subtle but impactful, the tongue and interior arriving in black instead of white.

Given the historic thread tying this “Black Tongue Pack” back to that aforementioned prototype, and the fact that pretty much every gradient Air Max 95 seems to command attention, we can see these being highly coveted by real 110 diehards. Blue, red, pink, and yellow colorways have been unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, but it’s possible even more are in the works.
