Wagyu’s identity runs through marbled hoodies, jean shorts, and a recurring cow head logo, all built around the imagery of A5 wagyu beef. That could have pointed toward something loud, in the spirit of Nike’s own “Bacon” Air Max 90, but Wagyu and Nike went the other way, keeping the palette mostly black and grey with gold accents. The Nike Air Max 90 x Wagyu Design

The design carries that same restraint. Wagyu’s cow head logo forms the heel badge, the brand’s name is visible through the mudguard window, and gold Swooshes run along the sides (Sole Retriever described that same Swoosh as a shiny woodgrain finish, so outlets don’t fully agree on the treatment). The upper mixes hairy suede on the quarter panels with perforated leather at the toe, finished off with white rope laces and a patterned sockliner. Each pair also includes a “Certificate of Authenticity” modeled on the documents Japan’s Meat Grading Association uses to grade real wagyu beef, with the same certificate stitched into the lining of the matching Nike Tech jacket.
