Medicom Toy Celebrates 30th Anniversary With A Hairy Nike Air Force 1

Medicom Toy, creator of the hypebeast-favorite BE@RBRICK sculpture, is celebrating its 30th anniversary by reviving its long-tenured but recently dormant Nike partnership, the duo soon set to release their first sneaker in more than half a decade.

To longtime Nike SB heads, and really any breed of hypebeast, Medicom Toy is a name that requires little introduction. The relationship began in 2002 when Medicom produced a series of toys for Nike’s newly formed skate team. Then came the partnership’s first sneaker collaboration, a Japan-exclusive Nike SB Dunk Low released in 2004. Several more Nike SB projects followed, many of which have also since ascended to grail status.

2010 brought us the first Medicom x Nike Air Force 1 collaboration, the Japanese brand dropping black and white pony hair colorways that would later inspire another Nike SB drop in 2020. That same general formula returns here, although the pony hair is considerably longer and more pronounced than on the original pairs. The shoe comes dressed in pale yellow with semi-translucent outsoles, pictured here alongside a BE@RBRICK figure wearing a matching Nike Tech suit.

No release date for the Medicom Toy x Nike Air Force 1 Low “30th Anniversary” has been announced as of this writing. We’ll circle back with an update as soon as that changes.
