Kiko Kostadinov’s Asics GEL-SD Lyte Returns in New Colors for the UB13-S Edition

Asics SportStyle has had a specialty line of products curated by the Kiko Kostadinov team since 2020. While not full collaborations, their projects pack a little more punch than the standard in-line releases, like the new UB13-S GEL-SD Lyte, coming in April.

Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov first collaborated with Asics in 2018, releasing brand new silhouettes like the GEL-Burz 1. The two continued a seasonal partnership for several years, either introducing new models or letting the Kiko team riff heavily on some of their in-line styles. Eventually, the Kiko team got their own in-house line of Asics Sportstyle sneakers, which are not directly referred to as collaborations, but can be identified by their number & letter designations, like UB3-S. Each time one of these projects releases, regardless of whether they’ve used the model before, the designation changes. Their latest work, featuring the GEL-SD Lyte, is designated UB13-S, a step up from the initial release of the runner dubbed UB12-S.

The next batch of colorways featuring the GEL-SD Lyte has been scheduled to release next week in early April. The model features the same materials and construction as its predecessor, but now adds gradient mesh underlays to three excellent new colorways of the runner. The first is the most subtle of the trio, sporting a blue to mauve color transition, encased in a dark brown TPU cage from toe to heel. Next up is the most visually striking pair, whose mesh layer starts in grey at the toe and gradually transitions to a aqua blue shade, all of which is overlaid by a bold neon yellow outer layer. Finally, our favorite, the orange to red to blue at the heels gradient style, which emphasizes the sunset-like color gradient with a simple tan cage overlay.

ASICS UB13-2 GEL-SD LYTE RELEASE INFORMATION

The next release of the Asics GEL-SD Lyte with creative direction from Kiko Kostadinov has been scheduled to release next week, on April 2nd, 2026. The new colorways come under an updated UB13-S label, with three bold colorways ready for Spring & Summer weather. Each pair will be available through both Asics and select retailers, with pricing expected to be around $180 again.
