New Balance has unveiled multiple brand new models for 2026 this week, including an interesting mid-cut style dubbed the P400. In addition to their in-line style, Junya Watanabe MAN has unveiled their take on the upcoming model, dressed entirely in black.
The creative partnership between Junya Watanabe and New Balance began in 2016, merging Watanabe’s avant-garde fashion sensibility with New Balance’s functional athletic heritage. Watanabe, a protégé of Rei Kawakubo at Comme des Garçons, has reworked classic New Balance silhouettes like the 577, 1500, and MT580, often using patchwork materials, premium textiles, and striking overlays that reflect his deconstructed, layered aesthetic. These collaborations have consistently blended high fashion with performance DNA, earning acclaim from both sneakerheads and style communities.
This week, the Junya Watanabe MAN line unveiled their next project with New Balance during a runway show. The collaboration will feature the P400 silhouette, a brand new silhouette from the Boston brand that was unearthed by leakers yesterday. Very little is known about the model at this point, but it appears to blend design styles from the brand’s running & basketball divisions, combined into a sleek, but tall, silhouette. The Junya MAN edition of the shoe comes in all black leather, featuring white branding hits across the tongues.

The upcoming collaboration from Junya Watanabe MAN and New Balance is not expected to arrive until late 2026, during the Fall/Winter season. The base model P400 is expected to debut this month, giving us some time to learn about the new silhouette before this all-black execution hits. Pairs will likely be available through retailers that carry the Junya MAN line, and no pricing is available yet.
