Reebok has really hit paydirt in this latest leg of the DMX line. The Brain Dead x Reebok DMX Series 3000 took over the timeline and helped add fuel to the fire as the chunky silhouette started its inline journey shortly after. Hoping to go 2-for-2, the Boston brand heads Down South, enlisting H-town’s A Herd of Bison for a new spin on the Reebok DMX Trailzillo.
The clearest comparison to the modern DMX Trailzillo is the archival DMX Armadillo II, lending many of the cues from the wavy side waves to the blocky midsole design. It’s really some slight changes to the shape that give this current iteration its character, now officially announced for the first time after early pairs began circulating on social media in the weeks leading up.
For A Herd of Bison’s pair, Reebok leans all the way into function, including a utility pocket as a lace shroud and a removable compass/carabiner combo. Beyond a stealthy foundation, ’90s trail aesthetics appear with the lime green pops on the side and the purple midsole unit; Vibram’s patented orange certainly doesn’t hurt that effort, either.
The A Herd of Bison x Reebok collection, including the DMX Trailzillo and a range of co-branded apparel, drops via the AHOB site on November 1st before a wide launch on Reebok.com on November 6th. A $130 retail price is confirmed through either channel.
