fragment design x Nike Air Force 1 Low Revealed in Black
fragment design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara has that black Air Force 1 energy: his brand is collaborating with Nike on an all-black Air Force 1 Low. Following shortly after the reveal of an all-white fragment design x Nike Air Force 1 Low, this contrasting black pair features the same tonal details and custom branding hits as its all-white counterpart. Even its method of reveal was identical, as both pairs were debuted by GOD SELECTION XXX founder Yasunari Miyazaki. The shoe's shape and build are that of a standard low-cut Air Force 1, meaning that the premium leather builds and thickly-padded original heel tabs of last year's 40th-anniversary edition "Since 82" AF1s are nowhere to be found. What sets this pair apart from its in-line counterparts is the Godfather of Streetwear's special branded details, namely fragment design's lightning bolt logo on the lateral heel and a debossed "FRGMT" logo on the midsole. fragment design and Nike's experiments with the Air Force 1 go back over two decades, as the first HTM (Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker) Air Force 1 was released in 2002. Since then, the two have worked on everything from croc-skin-covered Air Force 1 Lows and Lunar Force 1 Lows to a three-headed silk collaboration with CLOT, but this style, their simplest yet, more mirrors the largely unaltered look of fellow longtime Force collaborator Supreme's box-logo-equipped black and white AF1 Lows. Though a release date for the collaboration has yet to be announced, it's expected to touch down sometime in 2024. Expect a price somewhere in the range of $120-$160 USD.For more from the world of footwear be sure to check out the latest installment of Sole Mates, a weekly Hypebeast series that spotlights notable individuals in street culture and their connection to their favorite shoes.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
