Cooper Flagg’s rookie campaign is officially in the books, and it’s safe to say the No. 1 overall pick lived up to the hype. The 2026 Rookie of the Year frontrunner averaged north of 20 points and etched his name in the record books by becoming the first teenager to drop 50 in an NBA game, reminding us why New Balance has positioned him as a cornerstone of its growing basketball division. A signature shoe feels inevitable, but for now, Flagg is helping usher in new inline models. This latest headline, however, comes from the tunnel rather than the hardwood.

Flagg arrived at this weekend’s Bulls matchup in a new inline model dubbed the New Balance 950 – a lifestyle cut featuring cues from both the New Balance Allerdale and T500. It’s worth noting that the 950 name has history within the brand, previously tied to training footwear designed for U.S. service members.
