Following the announcement of a multi-year partnership back in July, global performance brand Rigorer and Austin Reaves recently released the rising NBA star's first signature shoe, the AR1. Limited to just 2,000 pairs, the AR1 debuted in an "Ice Cream" special edition colorway globally in partnership with global marketplace KICKS CREW, August 11, 2023.Born and raised in Arkansas, Reaves played college basketball for the Wichita State Shockers and the Oklahoma Sooners, before joining the Los Angeles Lakers and signing a four-year extension this summer. Reaves first wore the Chinese sportswear brand Rigorer, founded by former CBA player Lin Chenyao in 2014, during the 2023 NBA regular season and playoffs. Aside from the aesthetic design, the special edition AR1 is loaded with performance technology inspired by Rigorer’s journey in basketball.Leading the performance focus design is the breathability and lockdown support Woven Cocoon Upper, low-court feel ShowTime Tech Foam Midsole encapsulated in an EVA foam, and lace bite-eliminating Bubble Lacing System.
