Ben-G Releasing a Nike SB Air Force 1 for the New Color of the Month Series

Nike SB is reportedly building a new Color of the Month series for their modified Air Force 1, teaming up with partners around the world for regional-exclusive colors. Today we have an early look at the pair from Ben-G, coming in October.

Way back in 1984, just two years after the Air Force 1’s debut, Nike released their first Color of the Month series. The Swoosh was on the verge of discontinuing the still-new silhouette, and stores on the East Coast saw a surge in demand for the diminishing stock of the basketball shoe. They asked Nike to continue to produce the AF1, also requesting exclusive colorways they could rotate in and out of their catalog, giving fans of the silhouette a reason to keep coming back for more. Nike obliged, and the Color of the Month line was born. The new wave of colors helped save the Air Force, and Nike credits that special request with keeping the model alive in its infancy.

Fast forward over forty years, and Nike SB has released a modified pair of the Air Force 1 built for skateboarding. The shoe has landed in a small assortment of colors so far, but there are big plans in the works for the remainder of 2026. The SB team is reportedly working on their own version of a Color of the Month program, according to Vlad Ciutacu of SneakerMarket.RO, who broke the news this morning. Nike SB’s version of the program will bring collaborators from around the world to design their own AF1 colorway, with each pair released as a regional exclusive. Nocturnal from Philadelphia will represent the US, Instant Skateboards for Japan, Fly Streetwear for China, and Ben-G from Amsterdam for Europe.

The Ben-G pair is what sparked the news about the Color of the Month series, which surfaced in in-hand photos giving us a clear look at the special edition release. Their take on the iconic Air Force brings an all-suede build to the model, similar to many of the SB releases we’ve seen so far. The looks is primarily colored in Light Chocolate brown, paired with Court Purple for the Swooshes, outsoles, and other Nike branding hits. Finally, Ben-G’s logo is applied to the outer heel of both shoes.

Nike SB’s upcoming Color of the Month project is currently expected to launch in October 2026, featuring Air Force 1 colorways from four of their collaborators around the word. Amsterdam’s Ben-G will fulfill the European slot on the roster, coloring their pair of the modified AF1 in Light Chocolate suede with vivid purple accents. Pairs will likely be available exclusive in the Euro market, and are expected to be priced at $120.
