Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” Releasing Holiday 2024

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” will be released during the Holiday of 2024. This will mark the first HBCU x Jordan Brand release to the public.

In 2023, Jordan Brand gifted various college basketball teams their own Air Jordan 1 Low OG PE. One of the schools was Howard University, specifically the women’s basketball team. Each pair had a similar theme, but the colors and mascot present would reflect the school. Jordan Brand will launch the “Howard University” Air Jordan 1 Low OG during the Holiday 2024 season. This also marks the first time the brand will launch an HBCU shoe at retailers.

Howard University was founded on March 2, 1867, and some famous alumni include Chadwick Boseman, Sean Combs, Nick Cannon, Marlon Wayans, Anthony Anderson, a big Jordan Brand guy, Taraji P. Henson, and more. In 2020, Jordan Brand and Howard University signed a 20-year partnership. The same year, Michael Jordan committed to donate $100 million over 10 years to organizations dedicated to ensuring racial equality and social justice. Since the partnership, Howard has received multiple player exclusives, including a showcase of Air Jordans 1 – 38.

Our sources informed us that the Air Jordan 1 Low releasing to the public will be the PE that was designed in 2023 and gifted to the women’s basketball team. Dressed in the school colors of Red, Indigo Blue, and White. Utilizing a White leather base and Red suede on the overlays. Blue appears on the tongue labels, Swoosh with a stingray-like texture, and mini Swoosh. For a premium feel, satin quilted liners are used. The Wings logo adorns the heel in White, and the Nike Air on the tongue features the same shade. Other details include the Howard Bison logo on the insoles, Sail midsole, and a Gum rubber outsole.
