“It’s always me.” The Action Bronson New Balance partnership has long been among both’s most valued, evident in a shared canon that’s more than a dozen pairs deep and even the rapper’s involvement in some inline efforts; he voiced the reveal for the New Balance Ellipse. However, he and the Boston brand took the most significant step in their relationship to date with the announcement of the New Balance 2811, a chunky retro runner crafted by Bronsoliño himself in concert with New Balance designers. Following the debut colorway in the New Balance 2811 Mikročpske, Bronson is back previewing the next steps: a white/blue and a red/black colorway expected out next.

We’ll begin with the black/red, fitting given that it was the first seed of this novel model that the public caught sight of. This indeed gives us closure on a nocturnal colorway that Bronson was spotted wearing courtside at the Mecca. Shown in full, the shoe truly does approach a blackout arrangement, though the red jewel badge and white mudguard underlays help to bring some depth.

The white/blue has already been in the headlines before this official teaser. In late July, multiple full-size runs went up for sale on the resale platform GOAT, many with an asking price well below what the New Balance 2811 retails for. Veterans of collecting likely could’ve guessed the reason by that piece of info alone, but a week and change after those sales began, Bronson himself took to socials to denounce those involved with the “heist.”

As for what the shoe aesthetically brings to the table, it’s another expression of the multicolor design world that the Queens native has made his home in. Though it swaps its accents into more aquatic tones, we’re reminded of the Rosewater New Balance 1906R for this pair’s reliance on an off-white center, before delving into teals, light blues, red contrast stitch, and a black sole unit to deliver that trademark eccentricity.

Seemingly despite that setback, that edition and this freshly revealed black/red will make up the next releases for Action Bronson’s signature New Balance 2811. While we await firm release details, catch in-hand teaser shots below.
