Nonetheless, Nike has already attracted attention for their efforts off the court, enlisting frequent NBA collaborator Victor Solomon, a designer of plenty of pro hardware, for a three-headed makeover of their lifestyle classics: the Nike Air Force 1 Low, the Nike Foamposite One, and the Nike Air Max 90.

In a social media blast, Solomon delineated galleries for each shoe to get into the brass (gold?) tacks of what’s in store for all three individually. In focus here is the Victor Solomon x Nike Air Max 90 “Downtown Diamond District,” earning that nickname for its ties back to the designer’s time spent in the neighborhood as a young professional.

The most literal interpretation comes with an embroidered Swoosh that visually replicates the actual gems in question. A uniting force across all three, cream tumbled leather paces this Air Max 90, before the signed suede stamp on the heel contrasts in black. Basketball lace locks and necklace-inspired laces merge both that formative time period and how Victor eventually applied that discipline.

The Victor Solomon x Nike Air Max 90 “Downtown Diamond District” is confirmed to release on February 13th via Shoe Palace at 3 PM local time. Retail is set at $250.
