Last Fall, Vans’ OTW team presented a unique new take on the Old School, taking inspiration from a Chanel bag. Now, they’ve done it again with the Authentic, dressing the model up in two colorways inspired by the “La Habana” bag, coming soon.

In 2025, the “Souvenir” Old Skool pack became one of the year’s standout Vans releases, reinvigorating interest in the classic silhouette with a fashion-inspired twist. First dropping in Warm Brown with a spray-painted canvas look, leather overlays, tweed side stripes, and collectible pins, the sneaker sold out almost instantly and sparked major hype. Its limited nature and resale premiums, hundreds of dollars above the MSRP, cemented the project’s standing, even appearing on a number of Sneaker of the Year lists.

Now, Vans’ Off the Wall team is back with a follow-up to that pack, which took its inspiration from the Chanel Graffiti bag. This time around, they’ve selected another Chanel messenger bag for inspiration, the “La Habana” tote from 2016/17. Instead of the Old Skool, the iconic Authentic acts as the canvas for this interpretation, arriving in two colorways. Both feature paint splatters across the toes, and sequins wrapping around the midfoot and heels of the shoe. Available in two colorways, green & blue or black & white, each comes with an extra set of laces, yellow for the former and red for the latter. Finally, both are equipped with a small keychain of charms like dice, globes, and more.

Vans OTW’s latest set of sneaker inspired by high fashion are scheduled to release next week, on January 29th, 2026. Featuring the Authentic in two new colorways inspired by Chanel’s “La Habana” bag, pairs come in either a blue & green build or a neutral white & black combo. Pairs will be available from both Vans and select retailers for $105.
