For the nostalgic hooper, there have likely been few Retros to hit the scene this year more impactful than the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4. Heralded as a massive highlight of Nike Basketball’s aughts era, the model stormed back to the market for All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, hardly a coincidence as a range of kicks with ties to Kobe Bryant, either tacit or explicit, paced the festivities.

After crossing off that red, white, and blue variation, the silo is checking up for further colorways as it becomes a factor anew. Next up in that crowd is the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 OT “Black,” a murdered-out edition from the shoe’s original run. The comprehensive nocturnal treatment from head-to-toe speaks for itself, swapping between leather siding, replete with striped indentations and an embossed swoosh, and a suede toe cap for extra texture.

Crucially, this is a colorway unvisited in previous bring-back efforts. Brief visitations in 2012 focused on lighter fare, while the 2016 series most closely approached this blackened pair with a “Hollywood Nights” style black with Lakers-colored trim.
