What began as a solution to China’s loyalty to hooping outdoors has led to a robust sub-line under Nike Basketball called the S.T. series. The collateral? Ballers not in Greater China are jealous.
It’s typically a colorway, not an actual shoe, that basketball players and sneakerheads think about when pondering a “China Exclusive” release. Nike’s S.T. series (aka Street Tough) began in Summer 2025 with the S.T. Flare, a low-cut hoops model with sharp design and great pricing that was made specifically for the outdoor hooping history. Later came the S.T. Glow, which Sneaker News revealed earlier this year, followed by the kids-exclusive S.T. Dynamite, which had the comments selling buzzing with intrigue.
At the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend, Nike brought the Greater China exclusive series to Los Angeles by debuting the Nike S.T. Charge in a “Warning Label” colorway. Revealed by Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons, the Charge bears a Cushlon 3.0 foam with a Zoom Turbo unit at the fore-foot, offering a healthy performance package on par with what is simply needed to last a game to 21 or four quarters of high-intensity competition.
Nike Basketball revealed additional colorways to Sneaker News, displaying five outstanding color-combinations that read more like lifestyle-driven concepts than hooping shoes, but since when were basketball sneakers not a fashion statement? The exterior MonSTer Skin is design to maximize durability against the harsh scrapes and scuffs from the jagged concrete, but the aesthetics are truly stand-out as they mimic the textured surface of a Kobe 6 and a Ja 3.
As of now, the Nike S.T. Charge will be exclusive to Greater China; plans to bring the shoes beyond that region and possibly into the North America market has not yet been confirmed.
