Nike SB is working on a special project for the city of San Francisco. Celebrating the city’s Muni transit system, the Dunk Low is reportedly taking on the old Fast Pass ticket colorways, with twelve pairs releasing throughout 2026.
San Francisco’s skate scene really surged in the 1980s, shifting from backyard and pool riding into full street style. Iconic spots like Embarcadero Plaza and the Portsmouth Square bridge (aka China Banks) became central to skate vids, culture, and tricks that spread globally. FTC (For The City) opened in 1994 on Haight Street, becoming a pillar for local skaters. Nike got in early, using SF as a hub for wear tests, shoots, and special Dunk releases that nod to the city’s streets. In recent years, they’ve released plenty of projects with our local shops, including FTC, Atlas, and 510.

Next year, Nike SB is reportedly planning a big release celebrating San Francisco’s Muni transit system, a hybrid bus/train that traverses the city. Skaters have long used the Muni system to get to around, and their old Fast Pass cards (above) are the basis of this new project. The cards were rotated on a monthly basis with new colors, featuring a split design with a silver stripe of Muni’s iconic wave logo down the middle. The SB project will reportedly use all twelve colors throughout the year, with one shoe releasing via local skate shops each month, celebrating this piece of SF transit history. The first pair we saw was a blue & yellow style, and today a pair in brown and orange hues has surfaced. This new look gives us a better idea of some of the shoe’s details, namely the Golden Gate Bridge branding on the insoles.
