Jordan Brand continues to dig into its archives with a new addition to its evolving “Flight Club” series, this time turning its attention to the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG in a completely new make-up that mirrors the nostalgia.

Following the debut of the concept earlier this year on the Air Jordan 4, the “Flight Club” theme draws inspiration from the booklets, inserts, and postcards that accompanied Air Jordan releases in the late 1980s. These tangible pieces of storytelling that helped shape the brand’s early identity continue to play integral roles in the storytelling aspect of footwear today.

For the Air Jordan 1, that idea is translated through a clean black canvas construction on the overlay, shifting from the model’s traditional all-leather build. Contrasting Sail-colored stitching runs throughout, creating a vintage-style outline that calls back to the era that inspired the collection. Underfoot, a classic gum outsole anchors the design as does the exposed spongy insides of the tongue, reinforcing the retro aesthetic. Finally. Flight Club branding on the insole ties the concept together. While not pictured, we expect a Flight Club themed shoe-box to accompany the drop.
