Jordan Brand has been reworking some of their classics into more affordable options in recent years, like the Air Jordan 4 RM. After an extensive run with that model, it appears the AJ3 is next up, ditching the RM subtitle and simply called the Air Jordan Ultra.
Takedown models have been an important extension of the Jordan Brand lineup, offering more accessible versions of flagship performance sneakers tied to Michael Jordan’s legacy. Beginning in the 2000s, models like the Team Jordan series translated design cues from mainline Air Jordans into lower-priced options built for team athletes and everyday players. Later releases, including budget-conscious performance pairs inspired by signature models such as the Air Jordan 34, maintained visual DNA while simplifying cushioning and materials.
In 2024, Jordan introduced a new era of takedown models with the Jordan 4 RM, a low-top, simplified version of the iconic AJ4. The model was introduced in collaboration with Nigel Sylvester, before releasing widely in an avalanche of colorways. Last year, the Air Jordan 3 was rumored to get the RM treatment, and it has finally appeared this week, though it seems to be ditching the RestoMod subtitle. Instead, the silhouette will go by Air Jordan Ultra, and even without the number, we can tell it is heavily inspired by the AJ3. The shoe is seen here in one of its debut looks, a simple “Sail” style, with a mesh and suede upper with elephant print leather reinforcement. The best part is the $145 price tag.
AIR JORDAN ULTRA “SAIL” RELEASE INFORMATION
The new takedown silhouette from Jordan Brand has not been officially announced yet, but is currently slated to launch during the Summer 2025 window. The Air Jordan Ultra appears to be the RM version of the Jordan 3 that leaked last year, seen here dressed in a simple Sail white colorway with Royal blue accents. Pairs will be available through Nike and select retailers for just $145.
