The Air Jordan 1 High has gone back to fewer releases in recent years, only popping up for special, considered colors. The high-top model arrives in a new “Red Polish” look this Fall.
Nike’s Jumpman division rotates through their series of iconic early models for retro releases, using the cycle to prevent one silhouette from dominating retail shelves. Several years ago, their new drops for the Air Jordan 1 High OG got a little out of hand, and their #1 model was left on shelves and often discounted, undoing decades of exclusivity in just a few short years. Releases for the iconic AJ1 have been scaled back significantly in the past two years, moving on to focus on other fan-favorites like the Jordan 3 and 4. Now, the One That Started it All only appears every so often, typically with a more focused and considered story attached.
This week, we have an early look at a new special pair of the Air Jordan 1 High coming this Fall, which seemingly takes inspiration from manicures and themed painted nails. The release will come in women’s sizing, and gives the AJ1 a stunning “Red Polish” treatment. The look features a plain white leather base for the upper, applying University Red overlays with a glossy finish to mimic a shiny top coat layer on nails. The collar’s Wings logos come in a silver chrome finish, as do the tiny Jumpman charms added to the heels of the shoe. Inside, the insoles feature a graphic to match the theme of the shoe, while glue-on nail charms are included with every pair.
AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH OG “RED POLISH” RELEASE INFORMATION
The latest original colorway for the Air Jordan 1 High OG has not been made official yet, but thanks to leaks from SneakerMarket.RO, we can pencil this drop in for September 2nd, 2026. The new look seems to be a women’s colorway, featuring a plain white base with glossy University Red leather for the overlays. Chrome Jordan Wings and Jumpman branding add some flash, and each pair comes with a set of nail charms for your next manicure. Pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $185.
