Sole Play’s adidas Predator Sala “Press Play” Is Inspired By Gaming

Nike put the ball in adidas’ court with its massive lineup of Cryoshot collaborations ahead of the World Cup, linking with some of its foremost partners in celebration of the global game. adidas, meanwhile, isn’t going all-in on star power but keeping things hyper local. Here we have a new project with Atlanta boutique Sole Play through the adidas Business Track program, a crisp take on the adidas Predator Sala silhouette inspired by gaming.

Iridescent, green-tinted leather uppers immediately conjure a cyberpunk sort of vibe, punctuated by red stripes and a deeply saturated green on the heel portion of the outsole. The special touches are what really bring it home. Multiple different tongue covers are included, as are red, green, and blue laces. The standout detail lives on the heel, where circular lenticular buttons show pause and play symbols on the left and right shoes respectively.

“For us, this collaboration is about showing what’s possible when communities are given space to lead with their own ideas,” says Anthony (TJ) Bennett, Founder of Sole Play. “Atlanta has always been a city where people create from instinct, turn limitations into innovation, and move culture forward before the rest of the world catches up. We wanted ‘Press Play’ to reflect that energy and inspire the next generation to trust their own vision.”

The Sole Play x adidas Predator Sala “Press Play” drops exclusively through Sole Play in-store and online on June 13th for $150.
