Snow Peak’s New Balance Niobium C_3 Releases in January

Snow Peak first partnered with New Balance in 2020 to release their high-concept Niobium 3-in-1 boot. Now, they’ve unveiled their Niobium C_3, the third entry in the series, releasing next week.

Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak has worked with New Balance several times over the last few years, transforming classic sneakers into conceptual outdoor-ready versions. The project began in 2020 with the Niobium 3-in-1 style that could be configured as a boot, a mule, and house slipper. They followed up in Summer 2021 with the Concept 2, a strappy sandal ready for all conditions. Now, they’ve announced their latest entry in the series, the Niobium C_3, a high-cut boot made to be compatible with snow shoes. The silhouette is loosely based on the 580, with the retro runner’s midsole serving as the base for the silhouette. The shoe features a shroud upper with an insulated and removable inner boot that can be worn separately. The webbing loops around the shoes can be attached to traditional snow shoes, while a Vibram outsole underneath adds extra traction and durability.

Snow Peak’s latest conceptual footwear release with New Balance is set to arrive on January 5th, 2024. The two-piece Niobium C_3 boot will be available directly from the NB website for $300.
