If you haven’t heard already, we’re officially dropping our own sneaker.
You’ll have to forgive us if we’re a bit biased, but it does feel natural to lead off our preview of the weekly releases with our own design, a highly-limited affair that you’ll have a few chances to grab this week (more details at the start of this week’s rundown.) In news beyond the home front, the Air Jordan 11 Low “Mother’s Day” leads off the Jumpman’s efforts this week, bringing the summer-ready silhouette with sentimental peripherals in tow. The first-ever retro for the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Voltage,” a “Ducks of a Feather” takeover for the GT Future, the return of the Reebok Board Flip, and several adidas x Anthony Edwards drops round out the biggest stories.
To get the full picture of what’s on the way, check out day-by-day galleries included below. Hyperlinks leading back to our original coverage are attached to each release of note; follow those for direct pick-up links, more images, and detailed breakdowns as to what makes all of them worth watching. As always, we’ll keep this page updated with any late-breaking additions to the slate, but to ensure that nothing slips through the cracks, keep our Sneaker Release Dates and Jordan Release Dates landing pages handy.
If there was ever a reason to clear out… The release of the Sneaker News BAPE Sta is one we’ll naturally be updating our readers on all week. If you’re planning on seeking out one of our two colorways, May 6th brings the first opportunity to get your hands on our first-ever sneaker collaboration, dropping exclusively via StockX. Then, BAPE’s release comes on May 8th via their NYC flagship. Our pop-up (powered by StockX) takes place on May 9th at 70 Hester St. in the Lower East Side.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming.
May 4th is headlined by two Nike hoops efforts: the Nike Ja 3 “Uncle Phil” and Nike GT Cut 4 “Rob Dillingham.” More befitting of “May the Fourth,” the Star Wars Crocs capsule touches down, centered on the upcoming stars of “The Mandalorian and Grogu.”
May 5th brings a beloved Air Max partner into the world of performance, as the Patta Mercurial Vapor Elite 16 bolsters the Swoosh’s World Cup efforts. The Converse Chuck Taylor First String Woven Leather brings more from the ultra-premium world of Chucks, a dominant theme for them of late.
May 6th is a one-man show, as the Reebok Board Flip sees its wide release at long last, ushering in the “Watermelon” and “Strawberry Lemonade.”
May 7th first focuses on a “software update” for Nike’s pre-eminent 3D-printed product, as the Zellerfeld Air Max 1000.2 bring slight modifications to the existing silhouette. Sticking with the Swoosh, the Nike Moon Shoe delivers three colorways after a sell-out for its first general release colorway. Over to the world of adidas x Anthony Edwards, adidas Believe That “Footwear White” heralds Ant’s budget model while the adidas AE1 Cleat tests out Edwards’ purported cross-sport strengths. One of two notables for the 110 this week, the Nike Air Max 95 “Slate” arrives with Big Bubble tooling. Closing with the Boston brand, the New Balance 990v4 “Moonbeam/Tangerine” and New Balance 990v4 “Moonbeam/Magic Blue” drop under the “Blue Crab” pack, while the New Balance 991v1 “Chipmunk” further fleshes out their Flimby Made in UK arm.
May 8th is a long time coming for fans of the Penny: the Nike Air Foamposite One “Black/Volt” gets its first-ever retro. Speaking of long-awaited, the Feid Salomon XT-4 “Ferxxocalipsis” brings a F&F exclusive to the public. The Nike Air Max 95 “Comet” is next up, before Beaverton’s celebration of the W’s 30th year unites the Kobe 9 EM “WNBA,” A’Two “WNBA 30th Anniversary,” and Book 2 “WNBA 30th Anniversary.” For those in summer mode already, the Nike Air Rejuven8 “Jelly” evokes Y2K poolsides. To close, the New Balance 2010 “Grey Days” offers one of the first from NB’s month-long celebration, while the Nike LeBron 23 “Old Glory” remembers Paris 2024.
May 9th offers a last-minute gift before Mom’s big day: the Air Jordan 11 Low “Mother’s Day,” arriving with jewelry and a heartfelt placard. The Nike GT Future “Ducks of a Feather” is also on the menu, exclusively dropping via Flight Club NYC. If Ant’s earlier drops weren’t entirely your speed, the aidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Lucid Blue” offers one last chance this week as the T-Wolves’ playoff spotlight burns only brighter.
